Ted  Halley  grew  up in Opelika  and  graduated from  Auburn  University. He is an USAF veteran of 24 years.  Father to five adopted children and many  grandchildren. Wanda Purvis

ABOUT OUR CHURCH MOTHER…

Mama Wanda has been a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ of Nazareth since 1984, when she began her journey of faith while studying in Bible Study Fellowship. A widowed mother of two grown children, two children by marriage, and a cherished grandson, her life reflects a deep commitment to both family and ministry.

Born in Oregon and raised in California, she made Montgomery, Alabama her home in 2012. Before settling there, she worked as a flight attendant for 11 years and later pursued higher education, earning two master’s degrees from Pensacola Christian College in 2009. With more than 30 years of experience as a Christian educator, Mama Wanda has poured her heart into teaching and nurturing others in the faith.

She joined Next Level Ministries in 2021 and, by God’s grace, was ordained as the Church Mother in March of 2022. Outside of ministry, Mama Wanda is a homesteader in Dalraida, where she tends to her chickens and fruit trees. She also joyfully serves her community by volunteering at her grandson’s Christian academy and at the Welcome Food Pantry in Millbrook.

Mama Wanda enjoys baking sourdough bread with freshly milled flour and treasures the simple joys of daily life. Her personal goal is to spend more time reading—especially the Word of God.
